Meet the owner
“Everyone knows Subeez because the art and the house music, so I am trying to carry that on,” says Ali Beach. Since taking ownership of this well-established Yaletown hotspot in 2012 when the previous owner decided to sell after 18 years, Ali has ensured that Subeez remains the eclectic, energetic space that locals know and love.
A seasoned food industry professional, both in the corporate setting and as an entrepreneur, Ali was first introduced to Subeez as a consultant hired to identify operational challenges and opportunities. Thus one of the first improvements he made as an owner has been to the menu.
These days, in addition to the local art work, the all-around friendly, energetic vibe and weekend DJ events, Subeez's brunch, lunch and dinner guests have been enjoying delicious locally-sourced seasonal fare.
