Meet the owner

“I was always one of those kids who picked things up from the street to fix them up and give them a new lease on life,” says Peter Breese, owner of Eclectic Revival. “Growing up in the 70s when everything was made from plastic, I had an appreciation for old things that showed craftsmanship and quality.”

This early talent for ferreting out items with both functional and decorative potential led to a career in lighting ranging from the restoration of vintage lights to building custom light fixtures and lamps from a variety of repurposed materials.

This shop already had a distinctly vintage feel in 1985, but it would take another 13 years before Eclectic Revival firmly established its identity as an antique lighting store. You can find lighting for all areas of your home, from elegant pendant lighting or wall sconces to main attractions like brass chandeliers. They also create custom lighting in house, so you can truly be assured that your piece is one of a kind.

One of the risks inherent to any shop is carrying too diverse a selection and failing to stock enough quality items. There’s no danger of that here, with the focus solely on quality, antique lighting fixtures. But instead of just selling period lighting pieces, this shop also does custom designs by finding reclaimed materials and reassembling them into works of art. They’ll brighten your room in more ways than one.

Electric revival is the name of the game at this antique lighting shop in the Junction. The showroom is packed with fine vintage ceiling lights and iconic period pieces such as Art Deco wall sconces and Tiffany-style table lamps. Owner Peter Breese is well known for his custom work that incorporates reclaimed materials and fixtures. His Steampunk-inspired table lamps are built with repurposed scrap metal and gas pipes, industrial-looking custom chandeliers are crafted with bent tubing capped with reproduction Edison filament bulbs, and the simple angel wing pendants feature metal wings salvaged from a car hood ornament.
