This is a hidden gem over near the airport on Matheson. A friend of mine works in the area and he suggested it for a Saturday night dinner. We had a great time as the food was hot, fresh, and tasted great, plus the service was very professional. I like places where they have a pride of ownership and this is one where the owners are active in the business, the chef came from the kitchen to check on our meal, and they genuinely appreciated our business. We weren't sure where to have dinner and decided to try this place. It was definitely worth it! When we walked in, we were greeted right away, in Italian and English, which I thought was a nice touch. There was a piano player in the foyer playing nice tunes, I liked that. The server came over right away, very courteous and kind. We were given bread with oil and vinegar to dip, it tasted delicious! Definitely authentically Italian! We then ordered fried calamari to start, definitely a good choice! Nice and crispy! Our pasta came soon after. It was cooked to perfection! The sauce was superb and the pasta's flavours all blended together nicely. I was thoroughly impressed with this restaurant and would definitely visit again. The only thing that wasn't too nice was the price, over $80 for two people, but it was well-worth it. Read more

Fantastic Italian restaurant! The service was excellent and the food matched the service. We had 4 of us and we all really enjoyed our meals. So impressed by both food and service. Complimentary bruschetta was fresh bright well balanced and incredibly yummy. The Alfredo was solid traditional Italian with a beautiful unique undertone I couldn't identify but loved. I visited the Richmond hill location recently for the first time. Considering it was a Monday the restaurant was almost full , a little wait and I was seated by a gracious lady ( I think one of the owner's family).I liked their ambience (they have recently renovated) and efficient service. The food was just awesome. Butter chicken was delicious , lamb chops tender and the black dal complimented the whole meal. Nan was soft. Ask for seat in glass round room. Read more

One of my favorite restaurants in Barrie. We've been here many times for many special occasions. We always enjoy the food and experience every time we go. Today we tried his brunch menu and it was really good as well. We had the Eggs Benny and Breakfast Poutine, along with a side of the homemade onion and apple sausages. Delicious. I absolutely love this place! Although the atmosphere of this restaurant is rather dark, gloomy, and sketchy, they have one of the best steaks and lobster in town. Usually we order bbq ribs and potato fries for appetizers. These appetizers are usually mediocre. As for the entree we always order the rib eye steak as well as 2lb-4lb lobster. The rib eye steak at House of chan is one of the best steaks I have ever had. The steak at House of Chan melts in your mouth as you eat it. This type of steak should only be eaten if you enjoy the natural taste of steak, and are expecting no additional added flavours. The lobster is usually just as good as the steak. They offer you a rich butter as a dip. I really enjoy this dish as well. Read more
