For those who know WOOF!'s location, the store used to be Pawsitively Pets. In May of 2008, Yuki and Dan Cripps bought the business and began revamping it. THREE months later, WOOF! New owners, new face, new name, a new pet store was born! By using bright colours and ensuring WE always greet you with a smile, we created a happy store. Q is the store's ambassador. On sunny days you will often find her hard at work greeting passer bys on the front walkway. She loves puppies and is a great teacher, teaching them how to get the best treats, run around the store safely, and play tug. We mustn't forget Spider, the store's guard cat. Yuki Cripps has always had a passion for dogs and all things furry. So it came as no surprise that in August 2008, Yuki decided to open the doors to Woof! Dog Shoppe in the hip Kitsilano neighbourhood of Vancouver.
Customers to the shop are greeted by managers M and Q, named after the James Bond characters. Q is a black pug who stealthily prances around the stores to ensure all is where it should be and settles at the front door to get some sun and greet the customers. M is a blue great Dane puppy who likes to monitor things from the comfort of her bed, because frankly, she’s so big she can see everything from there.
Woof! Dog Shoppe stocks raw and organic food for your four-legged friends and can get food and accessories on special order by request, but what really sets Woof! apart is the sense of community and friendship in the tiny shop. Everyone knows each other and their pets, everyone is friends (and good friends at that), and everyone is happy to hang out (especially between 4 and 6 p.m., which tends to be a packed house).
